A stage of life...!

Haa long long time I wrote on my blog… it is not that I did not write I just did not post may be I started to think what is good what is bad and what is should I write and what I should not… so I wrote and discarded around 15 posts…

I can say a lot of them were written when my brain was working on things which were in the past and were not worth to be posted. So now when I want to post something now I am not sure what I can, coz all I had written was deleted.

However looking around I can see all my friends getting married, man most of them also have kids now wow… it has been around 6 and half years since I started working and all these guys with kids now were all starting our career so it was small money and lots of fun, going out not to worry with lots of commitment.

We all have walked a long path in different jobs doing different technology, brought bikes then cars then houses and get married have kids… hummmm

School friends are also getting married, friends from collage also it gives good reason to go on long drives coz most of them getting married outside B’lore lol…

So a lot of friends ask me when I would get married and I always say I have not found a girl, so true so I know the next question what u are looking for in a girl…

I cannot answer that the same way 2 times it would change, coz all are beautiful. Some have a beautiful smile; some have beautiful eyes… lol… boys huh??

OK now b/w all of this everyone comes across this situation, some wanting to get married coz you are in love, some do not want to get committed. Few fall in love and few have a arranged marriage, however could you think that u would meet a person and say I would spend rest of life with her/him.

God what would I do?? I have no idea god save me… have fun god bless c ya bye

Away from home…!

Yes out of the house and away from India, from the place which is where I was born and grew up…

This was my tag line on gtalk a few days back “You are so yourself, when you are alone or far from place which is familiar to u…so here I am so ME…!” Is that nor true??

I have done this before when I traveled to Sydney OZ however this is still new coz it was different place and again diff people, culture!!! As always I was not ready to try new taste of food I was too comfortable for me to let go so thx to MTR and all there food products we cook here… and eat rather feast everyday…

I did manage to cross over and try some morocco food and it was great… it was so much like Indian food with diff spices and it was great…

DC was nice and the art gallery and museums have so much to offer, I was blown away… the culture here and the mix of people so many races and so many countries at a single place…great.

It is called the land of opportunities and I see a lot of things here are built by people who are not from the place… so it has grown with new people coming in and being able to do things, and the best of the trade have been able to grow.

However after a period of time u kind of miss all that people around, coz here you make the world, its your life your way, back home I have so many people I live for, so it is different.

I am no one to be able to say things are wrong and things are better back home, coz I can see they are good at what they do and they are the rulers of the life, my policy take the best of things and move on.

So in my room looking out at the sun go down I enjoy the freedom, the life which is blessed with so many good thing, I would still crib coz am human I want more :P

C ya for now

Good weekend

What a weekend haa!! It started with lots of rest and some small trips driving around the family…

Sunday started with a breakfast with friends... it had been sometime since I had gone out with friends for breakfast.

Bangalore has some great places which are great for breakfast…

SLV BSK 2nd stage nearest to my place and great place for Idly it has been some time I have been there…. May be it is because I am used to that idly. I remember the days where I was in night shift and we guys would come riding back on the bike to have the breakfast. Those were the days where I would work in night while most of the people slept and when I would come back to have breakfast would see all the early birds up and having a jog or walk. The elderly people come by for a cup of coffee.

Brahmins coffee Bar…another place for Idly. There is no sambar here it’s only chutney, for a person who dose not count his calories u can have butter with Idly. Kharabhath is good as well and a hot coffee with the same would make my day. My friends would wake me up early by 5:30Am in the morning when I would have come back home at 2:30AM and hit the bed. Yes that’s correct 3 hours of sleep and then I would go and have break fast and come back home only to realize I would not be able to sleep but would have to go to office.

SLV Corner Ramakrishna ashram : this an other place to get a vada and sambar and yes great coffee as well… near by to Brahmins coffee bar is the choice for the one who are into sambar…

Veena Stores Malleswaram: a place bit far from where am put up… but again a great place for breakfast… however has been ages since I have been there.

Suprabatha Hotel is another one here it is the Kesari Bath which I like the most…

There a few other places where I would go along with my friends for breakfast and yes these places are where u meet the real Bangalore the elderly regular people who come along with there kids and grandkids to have a breakfast and a cup of coffee… The best example for the fast food joints coz here food comes across to you fast.

Sunday was going great, and we decided to meet up dinner as well while we would be able to watch the IPL match between Royal chargers and the Deccan chargers… we lost the game the win would have been a great one… coming from 7th position last year to be the runners up is great… however coming from 8th place and going to win the IPL was great for the Deccan chargers.

The win would have made the weekend from good to great…

Am not a foodie coz I am not adventures to try new food, but while talking about going out for some good food with the friends who u have grown up with gets a lot of memories, the days where we were asked to get our parents to school coz we had not done good in a subject to the days where we bunked the collage class and been to a movie. The dream of becoming something when we scored good marks in a subject to the time where I never became one of it, and became something else.

A break from all the work and all the stuff you want to do with the time you have, and a weekend to enjoy connect back to yourself and may be just may be appreciate yourself for what you are… and what you have achieved and where u can head to.

Spirituality and Religious

I had not been able to write for some time now and when I got some time I came back and was thinking of what to write about…

Spirituality and Religious thoughts were some I had been thinking of as that is something all of us would want to associate…

Am I spiritual or am I religious??? Ask yourself and when I do I would be able to say I am spiritual but not religious.

What is spirituality? Some definitions

• Consisting of spirit; not material; incorporeal; as, a spiritual substance or being. "It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.
• Of or pertaining to the intellectual and higher endowments of the mind; mental; intellectual.
• Not lay or temporal; relating to sacred things; ecclesiastical; as, the spiritual functions of the clergy; lords spiritual and temporal; a spiritual corporation.

What is religious? Some definitions

• A member of a religious order who is bound by vows of poverty and chastity and obedience
• A person bound by monastic vows, or sequestered from secular concern, and devoted to a life of piety

However we still see a division some place or the other on religion. Some want to convert and enforce there religion on others, some want to eliminate others.

The blame game is there as well. We have some come in and talk about how MNC’s, Call centers and BPO’s have affected the youth and talk about the way the roots of religion not been respected. People have been beaten up… riots have taken place.

So when we read this, ask yourself and get to know what you are connecting to if you are religious know the reasons for what the methods were adapted.

For now will sign off but I am already thinking of the next topic… so hope to write back soon

bye

Hyperion

Today I would like to start talking about Hyperion as this would help me and a few of us to share of what we know about this Business Intelligence tool.

However what dose come to any ones mind when we hear the word “Hyperion”

Hyperion is a name of a Greek god…

Hyperion is a name of a moon of Saturn.

However we are going to talk about Hyperion Solutions Corporation it is a business performance management software company.

Hyperion was acquired by Oracle Corporation on 19th April 2007.

Just some History about the company:

Began as IMRS acronym for Information Management Reporting Services… in 1991 it went public on the NASDAQ. The company wanted a makeover a change in the name.

The company could effectively relaunch its products with a newer, sexier brand name. Seeking to highlight the hypertext capability which allowed a user to access information about a particular topic simply by clicking on the title of that topic, a look in the dictionary for words which began with hyper-, gave in the name of the titan Hyperion, a quasi-divine figure from Greek mythology who ruled over the sun, moon, and stars. Whereas "IMRS" was a liability because it was not memorable, the name Hyperion stuck in people's minds, and that was why, four years later, the entire company changed its name to Hyperion.

Over the years, Hyperion has built a number of product and service lines, among which are Hyperion Enterprise, Hyperion Pillar, and Hyperion OLAP. Hyperion Enterprise is an application for consolidating business information and reports, bringing together numerous ledgers into a single unified whole. Development began in mid-1988, and the product debuted in July 1991. In the three years leading up to 1997, when Hyperion released its fifth edition of Hyperion Enterprise, the product accounted for some 60 percent of the company's worldwide revenues.

As mentioned before Hyperion was acquired by Oracle Corporation on 19th April 2007.

Now just cannot end the blog here.. I will follow up with more information on some of there products and information…

Some of there products..

1. Hyperion Foundation Services - System 9 (based on Brio Portal, improved by adding the support for other Hyperion products)
2. Hyperion Essbase
3. Hyperion Financial Management
4. Hyperion Planning
5. Hyperion Financial Reporting

7. Hyperion Production Reporting (Oracle: Hyperion SQR Production Reporting release 9.3.1)

Personal life vs Professional life.

This is part of life which we are all worried about. We measure our success on this part of life.

This part of life which describes if men are made or broken. However the issue is managing our professional and personal lives.

We are human beings after all, and it is but natural that our personal and professional halves merge into one whole, in spite of our best efforts and intentions.

So what is that we could do to be able o keep cool and be able to keep the sanity.

Be yourself, you could not change yourself for something and not so if it is only to hide behind a face which is not true.

So it is better to honest and truthful to yourself. It is even more important to be able to love and respect yourself for being you. That is what matters to keep the head above your shoulder.

Make decisions when u have to. The more you avoid them they would hang back as a back log which would then need more effort, so it could be work or personal life take action when it needs rather then take them with you for days together.

Being able to disconnect from work and not take work personally dose need to be learn t if you happen to love your job; the trick is to identify yourself more with your profession and less with the company.

This are something which I have been able to learn from the days I worked as a IT guy with Foodworld supermarket, then as a technical support person to move out to work as a System/network administrator… to work on Hyperion products…

Confused mood!!!

Starting of my blogging with a topic of ‘confused mood’… Ironic was that I was clear of what I wanted to write and then had so many thoughts, and so as I was thinking this place will have what I am thinking..

This is not only me I think and assume all of us would come across a phase where they have a choice and more the choice the more we get confused.

So what is confusion??

  • It could be defined as a loss of orientation, a person who is confused may have difficulty solving problems or tasks, especially those known to have been previously easy.

  • Confusion is usually associated with some degree of loss of ability to focus attention.

So talking in medical/pathological terms it could be symptom to many issues… Confusion may result from a relatively sudden brain dysfunction. however when I started this blog I was only thinking of the sate of mind I had.

Over the period of time I would like to talk about Me, My job, Hyperion as I work on it, and will have travel blogs when I travel. I am not organized and so my blogs could be confusing :D.

For now good night… hope to write back soon.
